This is yet another poem that was requested of me to help a reader celebrate her mother's 100th birthday! An amazing milestone, I'm sure you'll all agree - this required some specialised tweaking as the reader specified that she was the youngest of seven (7!) children. Happy one hundredth birthday - I hope you enjoy my 100 years old poem!

Such a special date is here,
A day within a special year,
A landmark age, a bell to toll
- one hundred years and strong of soul!

As the youngest of your kin,
I knew you for less time but then
we grew to be there for each other
- more than daughter, more than mother.

That I can't be there today,
is something that I cannot change,
but wish you so much happiness,
So Happy Birthday and God bless.
