Poem for a late husband Poem for a late husband

This is a poem I was commissioned to create for a reader who desired a poem for her late husband.

I sometimes feel lost,
and alone more than ever.
The things you would say
I hold on to as treasure.

The tears come too soon
as I try to remember.
The way that you'd hold me
stays with me forever.

The feelings return
when I see you so clearly
in photos of us
that I always keep near me.

Your smile is the greatest,
the strength that it gives me,
This date of the year
that I'll always keep with me.
