Sixty year marriage poem / long limerick

By Paul London

This is a very short poem or limerick that I wrote for a visitor who emailed me asking for a special limerick for her father's 90th birthday. One of the more poignant details, for me anyway, was that the man had also been married for sixty years. That's an incredible achievement and I wrote this particular limerick to mark that 60 year marriage.

There once was a man so good looking,
that the ladies all wanted to hook him.
They'd come to him place,
put a smile on his face,
and then try to thank him with... cooking.

But he wasn't one to accept,
and his feet were effectively swept
by a woman so fast,
that some sixty years passed
in a love that's still beautifully kept.
